Christmas 2021

 We had a lot of fun making Reindeer Cookies and Christmas decorations this week.

We used arrowroot biscuits, nutella, M&Ms and pretzels to make our delicious reindeer cookies. It was a lovely treat!

Our Christmas decorations had a 'Xmas Tree' theme. We made a finger print xmas tree card, a glittery xmas tree with a candy cane and then a xmas tree ornament for our trees. What a great way to end the year.

EOTC Fun Days

Last week we drove to Waiari on the bus and we went kayaking, snorkelling, swmmingand played soccer too. When I went swimming with my snorkelling gear on I got 15 BIG gulps of water and it was DISGUSTING!!!

Simple Circuits

Music with Matua Jade

WALT explore different musical instruments and we are learning to give different types of music a go.

Three weeks ago we were with Matua Jade and when we walked in after Te puawai. I saw 2 electric guitars, some drums,3 normal guitars, 2 pianos 2 ukuleles and 5 different drums.Then the next week we did karaoke.These are the people that I know who went up and sang - Kieran JaxonB me donna hunter daniel jackson,We sang the song with a microphone too.

Asttle Writing - My Sliced Knee

Teacher Note - ‘UNASSISTED’ ASTTLE WRITING
The children write for a total of 40 minutes. Within that timeframe they have to plan their writing (a brainstorm) write, edit and re-craft their work. They are not allowed to use dictionaries or word cards. The students completed their writing on paper but have typed it out for their blogs.

6 weeks ago I was following dad to the rubbish hole that dad made with the digger/ friend too.Then we were half way their and I fell off and sliced my knee open on a very sharp rock.Then I had to go to the hospital,Mum took me and dad took me and ocean/lavana too.It wa'sent on my motorbikes it was on my other bike.And after that I had to have cruchers and a moom boot on.But I did not have the boot on because I did not brake my knee.I just had the leg bit on.I went home and restard on the couch,and played on my chromebook and played evio witch I found on crazy games.And online to,at the search button. 

So this is what thay put on my knee.

*some spescel water.

*glued it with spesel gule.

* then home to rest.

Water - An Amazing Substance

We are using water to help us understand different scientific concepts.

Last friday we did science with Te Tenana and it was water science. First we had a plastic cup and a ice cream container. Whaea Jac cut a medium little square. Then it had to get stuck on like glued on kinda like that too. Some peoples plactic container lids fell off and mine fell of so much times and i only got it stuck once.The seccend science experiment was hot and cold.

We have been learning our kupu o te Ra which is a word everyday.These are some words that you can say.

*Arai mata.-face mask. 

*papa takaro.-Playground.

*pai to Ra.- have a good day.

*Hiakai,hiainu-hungry/thirsty

We also made some wheku masks. I was using  the paint first,scharpes and then we made our own designs.Sometimes we also play the game whare whare which is bingo.We played this game to help us learn the names of fruit (huarakau)and vegetables (hua whenua)in maori.

First Draft Mahuika Show

Once upon a time there were two sisters called Kahu and Sissy. Kahu had to do all the stuff her self because was anoued at Sissy because sissy was lazy. One day they found a magical kete in the garden and nana was turned into coal. 

In the middle potiki, Sissy and Kahu needed to find Nana and Maui because they were taken to the underworld by pukeko and then she churned back into Nana.Te Ra the sun frose Kahus mouth so she culdint talk.And then Te Ra called Sissy Maui Girl.Because she done a lot of trikes too.Then piwakawaka said to sissy everyone says that my eyes are big and bulgy eyes.And then sissy said no!

At the end pukeko took Maui  to the underworld because pukeko was angry at mahuika because she burnt pukekos nose. And then mahuika put pukekos nose back to normal in steed of a burnt nos!

My Mum Ashlee

 My Mum Ashlee

My mum’s name is Ashlee. Her hair is down to her back and she has curly hair too. She wears track pants and wears size 16 T-shirts. Her height is 169 cm, she’s not short but not tall either. She has has a white freckled face.

She likes me reading to baby and she never growls me. I always make her breakfast, a cup of tea or a coffee but she doesn't like it now. I also do the dishes for mum. I always put the lazy boy for her.

I will do everything but she sometimes she gets angry at me because I don’t listen sometime. She always gives me a gigantic HUG and she always drives me to camp, school, Ocean's basketball sometimes and she takes me to the beach. One more thing she gives dad a cuddle and kisses because she loves him.

ANZAC Day

ANZAC day is when we commemorate soldiers and people that have died  in the World War 1 and World War 2. We wear poppies every ANZAC day on the 25th of April. We march, we commemorate and sing the National anthem. We also sing the ode.

Peter Burling was the youngest helsmen NZ has ever had. He set a goal when he was 11 to race in the America´s cup when he grew up.I am seeting a goal for my future self.

Tsunami Evacuation

Last Friday we had a Tsunami Evacuation on every phone. Then we had to get our bags and then we walked up the hill and there were people crying about their pets and their family. I kept stepping on gorse and it was so sore! And others were too.And I felt anxious, worried and scared because of my mum and I thought she was going to die. First we climbed the gate and some people got picked up. Then we were walking up the hill. And some people got gorse in their feet and it was sooooooooooooo sore!!!!! And last we got to get the gazebo and we got to go in it and we had a sausage sizzle.

The day had finally arrived. I was nervous, my tummy twisted and turned it was craaaaaazy!!!.I took a deep breath. It was Kylans turn,then Tames and then it was mine. My part is I love Reading books that take me back in time to the days of the dinosaurs.We sat down in our seats. We sat down with Mrs. Dane and Mrs. Radich. Then it was the Wonky Donkey and Toby was running down the hall. Everyone laughed. Then it was the Maui and the sun. First Jesse was walking down the hall and there were music and Jesse said what are you doing let me go!!!
